Adventures In Sugar Scrubs

IMG_1958When I come up with new recipes and products, I like to change things up and be a little different each time with each one. This time, as far as sugar scrubs go, I went in a totally new direction.

IMG_1957I wanted to incorporate raw honey this time and this is why:

🐝Honey is a humectant and contains anti-bacterial properties to help get rid of bacteria on your skin that can cause acne and other skin imperfections.
🐝Sugar is a natural source of glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that penetrates the skin and breaks down the bonds of dead skin cells, encouraging cell turnover and generating fresh skin layer.
🐝The enzymes in raw honey clarify skin and keep pores clear and clean and also it is loaded with antioxidants, enzymes, and other nutrients that nourish and hydrate skin.
🐝 Honey is said to even skin tone, and its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds help to decrease the appearances of scars and increase healing and tissue regeneration.

Then, I added fair trade, organic, raw sugar, brown sugar, refined, organic coconut oil, chamomile and lemongrass tea, and chamomile flower. Coconut oil is a fantastic moisturizer and the sugars are fantastic at exfoliating. Chamomile is notorious for helping calm and soothe irritated skin.

Once you put all of these powerhouse ingredients together, you get one of the best sugar scrubs in creation. It exfoliates and heals while smelling deliciously of raw honey and brown sugar, beat that!

Available soon in my shop! Stay tuned!
